Jim Johnson is an Executive Vice President and COO of FIS’s Global Retail Payments Division. This division represents approximately $2.6B of FIS’s annual revenue. In this capacity, Mr. Johnson is responsible for overseeing the profitability, day to day operations, and long-range growth of the company’s Retail Payments division. Formerly, Mr. Johnson served as the Senior Vice President and Division Executive in charge of the company’s Retail Division. Prior to that role, Mr. Johnson served as the Senior Vice President in charge of strategy and integration for the company’s Payment segment. Mr. Johnson has also led the Card and ATM business unit and has served as financial controller for Metavante, a 1.6B company acquired by FIS in 2009. Mr. Johnson joined FIS (Metavante) in 1997 as a product manager.
Prior to joining FIS, Mr. Johnson spent 5 years with the benefit consulting company today known as Hewitt, headquartered in Lincolnshire, IL. There Mr. Johnson was responsible for managing the technical aspects of large 401K system implementation projects for Fortune 300 companies.
Prior to joining Hewitt, Mr. Johnson spent 9 months with IBM as a systems engineer in their Naval Defense division headquartered in Manassas, VA.
Mr. Johnson holds a master’s degree in business administration from Marquette University’s School of Business (2001) and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan (1997). Jim sits on the boards of the Armed Forces Financial Network (AFFN) and ChexSystems.
